New sculpted vessels in raku clay

As Bob continues to build the raku kiln, I’ve been sculpting pieces in Pipenberg raku clay in anticipation. It’s a gritty sort of clay, with a satisfyingly stiff body. I can’t do the fine detail that I’m used to doing in porcelain, but I’m newly able to create hollow vessels, and it’s fun exploring what this clay is capable of.  I’m pleased with today’s results, which I’m posting photos of here. Clicking on the thumbnail image will give you a larger picture.
